Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for echoing US President Donald Trump's "dead economy" remark.
Speaking at Business Today India@100 Summit, Piyush Goyal said, “I think parroting a negative narrative by the leader of the opposition is a matter of shame. I condemn him for that and frankly the nation will never forgive Mr. Rahul Gandhi for this kind of very, very demeaning comments about the great story that Bharat is demonstrating to the world.”
Piyush Goyal also addressed the nation's economic outlook and strategic trade playbook within the new global trade order. The minister countered claims of a 'dead economy,' asserting India as the world's fastest-growing large economy with strong fundamentals. The session detailed India's evolving global trade strategy, emphasising agreements with developed nations, including ongoing negotiations with the United Kingdom and the European Union.
