Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) is chalking out plans to develop the city as a smart city. KMC Commissioner P. Viswanatha on Saturday held a review with officials on the works to be taken up for development of the city.
He asked them to take steps to hand over the maintenance of the sewerage treatment plants (STPs) at Jemmi Chettu, Sankalbagh and Old Pump House to private firms and prepare proposals to set up another STP in the city. The Commissioner also wanted the officials to make proposals which will provide proper facilities at the five stadiums being developed under the Khelo India initiative.
Similarly, plans for the development of five parks should be prepared for submission to the government, he said. The other works that should be prioritised are the underground drainage system and construction of Outer Ring Road, he said.
