PM Narendra Modi praised Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura on their Statehood Days, highlighting their cultural heritage, development and contributions to India’s progress.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday greeted the people of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura on the occasion of their respective statehood days, praising their contributions to India’s progress and expressing confidence in their future development.
In his message, Modi said the people of Manipur are enriching the nation through their dedication and hard work, highlighting the state’s passion for sports, rich cultural heritage and close bond with nature. He expressed confidence that Manipur would continue to move steadily on the path of development.
Extending greetings to Meghalaya, the Prime Minister said the people of the state have made strong contributions to national development. He noted that Meghalaya’s cultural vibrancy and scenic beauty are admired across the country and said he was confident the state would scale new heights of progress in the years ahead.
Wishing the people of Tripura, Modi said the state’s journey reflects a unique blend of tradition and modernity, adding that its people are adding momentum to India’s growth trajectory. “The state has witnessed pioneering transformations in diverse fields… I pray that Tripura prospers significantly in the coming times," he said in a post on X.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha thanked the Prime Minister for the greetings, saying they reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to inclusive development, better connectivity, peace and prosperity in the Northeast. “My heartfelt thanks and regards to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji for extending warm greetings on the occasion of Statehood Day of Tripura," Saha said.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma also expressed gratitude, thanking Modi on behalf of the people of the state for his warm wishes and continued guidance. He said Meghalaya remains deeply grateful for the steadfast support of the Government of India and Central ministries in accelerating the state’s growth and development, and added that he was especially touched by Modi remembering and honouring the vision of late P.A. Sangma.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Manipur conveyed the state’s appreciation for the Prime Minister’s message, saying Modi had underscored the Centre’s continued focus on development, inclusive growth and improved opportunities while honouring Manipur’s rich heritage and resilience. The people of Manipur, the Governor said, expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s steadfast support and commitment to the state’s progress.
