India is celebrating Diwali with great enthusiasm, with political leaders extending and exchanging greetings on this auspicious occasion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met President Droupadi Murmu and extended greetings on the occasion of Diwali. A picture shared on X by President Murmu shows PM Modi giving her a flower bouquet.

“Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan and shared Diwali greetings," Murmu wrote on X.

Earlier in the day, former president Ram Nath Kovind and his family called on Murmu and exchanged Diwali greetings.

“Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt Rekha Gupta called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan and shared Diwali greetings," the president’s office said in another post and shared a picture of the meeting.

PM Modi Extends Diwali Greetings To Citizens

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X and extended Diwali greetings. “Greetings on the occasion of Diwali. May this festival of lights illuminate our lives with harmony, happiness, and prosperity. May the spirit of positivity prevail all around us," PM Modi posted on X.

PM Modi Celebrates Diwali With Indian Navy

The Prime Minister celebrated Diwali onboard INS Vikrant with Indian Navy personnel.

Speaking during the event, PM Modi said, “INS Vikrant’s very name took away Pakistan’s sleep. If just its name could shake the enemy’s courage, that is INS Vikrant for you."

“Today is an amazing day. This scene is memorable. On one side, I have the ocean, and on the other, the strength of the brave soldiers of Mother India," PM Modi said.
