Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Chenab Railway Bridge, the world’s highest railway arch bridge, on Friday, marking a landmark moment in India’s infrastructure journey. Soaring 359 metres above the Chenab River, the bridge surpasses the height of the Eiffel Tower and forms a critical part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate India’s first cable-stayed railway bridge at Anji. Together, the Chenab and Anji bridges will establish a vital rail link connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country, culminating an engineering effort more than three decades in the making, since the idea was first conceived.
