Expressing gratitude to ‘jana shakti’ (power of the people) for extending him good wishes on his 75th birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said they (the wishes) were also an acknowledgement of the work being done to build a better India.

“Gratitude to Jana Shakti. I am truly overwhelmed by the countless wishes, blessings and messages of affection that have poured in from across the nation and overseas. This affection strengthens and inspires me,” he said in a post on X. The PM also took note of the fortnight of social service activities beginning on Wednesday across the country and reiterated his resolve for the creation of a Viksit Bharat.

“People across India have been doing various social service initiatives… This inherent goodness in our people sustains our society and gives us the courage to overcome all challenges… The innumerable wishes and the faith you have reposed in me are a source of great strength… I resolve to continue working with even greater energy and devotion, so that we realise our dream of a Viksit Bharat,” he said in another post in Hindi.

Top BJP leaders marked the day by launching projects and taking part in social events. Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated schemes worth `1,600 crore in the national capital, while BJP chief J P Nadda inaugurated the Namo Van in Haryana’s Rohtak, besides opening an exhibition on the life of Modi in Delhi. Terming him a “symbol of sacrifice and dedication”, the HM said PM Modi had been working tirelessly for the welfare of the people for over more than five decades.

“Seeing problems with foresight and resolving them with complete dedication is a special trait of Modi ji’s personality…In the era of wars, tensions, and global lobbies, Modi ji has emerged as a bridge of dialogue before the entire world. For this reason, 27 countries of the world have honoured the world-friend Modi ji with their highest civilian honours. This is indicative of his global leadership,” he said.

Nadda said PM Modi had taken several transformative steps for uplifting all sections of society and to realise the vision of an ‘Aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat’.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, termed the PM “sun of Indian politics”, while Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma called him “the true son of Mother India”.  Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu also extended greetings to the PM.
