Police book six for attempting to murder man over road rage in Trichy

The Airport police have booked six young men on charges of attempting to murder a 34-year-old man over a verbal altercation that followed a road rage in KK Nagar in Trichy.

Trichy: The Airport police have booked six young men on charges of attempting to murder a 34-year-old man over a verbal altercation that followed a road rage in KK Nagar in Trichy. The victim and his friend who tried to stop the assault have suffered cut injuries and were admitted to Trichy MGMGH.

Police have launched a search for all six absconding accused.Police said the victim, R Aravind Kanna, of Kulavaipatti Road near Trichy airport, was riding a two-wheeler near Subramaniyar Thidal. At that time, Thiruvarasan from Jancyrani Street in KK Nagar approached him in the opposite direction on his two-wheeler in a rash and negligent manner. Aravind reprimanded Thiruvarasan and questioned him for the rash riding.

Both then argued and left the spot, police said.However, Thiruvarasan was upset. He along with his friend Karthi, also from Jancyrani Street, and four others returned to the spot where the altercation took place. They then intercepted Aravind who was returning with his friend S Mugeshwaran, 24, and attacked them with sharp weapons. Both men sustained cut injuries on hip and legs.On information, police rushed to the spot, rescued the injured duo and admitted them to MGMGH. Police registered a case.
