Police foil Jakkampudi Raja’s hunger strike bid against Andhra Paper Ltd.

Former Rajanagaram YSRCP MLA Jakkampudi Raja was placed under house arrest early on Tuesday morning to foil his planned relay hunger strike against the delay in signing a wage agreement by the Andhra Paper Limited (APL). 

Mr. Raja had set July 21 as the deadline for the APL management to sign the wage agreement ensuring fair salaries and allowances for contract workers. 

On Tuesday, the police detained Mr. Raja at his residence placing him under house arrest and also took his supporters into custody in order to prevent the relay hunger strike outside the paper mill campus.
