Police in Chatra District arrest man with AK-47 and 393 bullets linked to interstate arms gang

Chatra: A police team in Chatra district arrested a man with an AK-47 rifle and 393 bullets on Sunday. The police also detained another person related to the case, and he was being interrogated until the last reports came in.The police officials did not rule out the possibility that the arrested man is a member of an interstate arms supplier gang. According to the SP of the district, there was information that two people were travelling to Chatra from Bihar on a bike via Kosmahi–Lenjwa Road under the jurisdiction of the Hunterganj police station area of the district to sell illegal firearms and bullets. To verify the information and take necessary action, a raid team was formed under the leadership of sub-divisional police officer (Chatra) Sandeep Suman.The raiding team intercepted two persons riding a bike near Kosmahi–Lenjwa Road. During checking, 393 rounds of AK-47 rifle bullets and a mobile phone were seized along with their motorbike.In this regard, a case was registered at Hunterganj police station. The arrested accused was identified as Roshan Kumar (18), a resident of Kuthilava village in Gaya district (Bihar).
