Police resort to lathi-charge to control crowd in Dharwad

The police had to resort to lathi-charge to control a crowd in Narendra village near Dharwad on Saturday night.

Two groups of youth began fighting over playing some songs in the music system during the Ganesh idol immersion procession.

The police on the spot brought the situation under control in minutes.

Superintendent of Police Gunjan Arya said that the police acted in a timely manner to disperse the crowd. The procession was completed smoothly later.
