Exciting news for aspiring students! Patliputra University is gearing up to enroll around 125,000 students into its four-year undergraduate programs for the 2026-2027 academic year. Offering a variety of courses in arts, science, and commerce for students across Patna and Nalanda districts, the university is ready to pave the way for future scholars.
Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) has developed a comprehensive plan to admit nearly 1.25 lakh new students for its four-year choice-based credit system (CBCS) undergraduate (UG) programmmes for the academic session 2026-2027.According to PPU dean of students’ welfare (DSW) Rajeev Ranjan, admissions will be conducted for degree Part-I courses in arts, science, and commerce streams across colleges located in Patna and Nalanda districts. “Colleges in Patna district collectively offer around 86,000 seats. Of these, approximately 53,000 seats are available in constituent colleges while affiliated colleges account for about 33,000 seats,” he said, adding that total seats in the constituent colleges of the Patna district are thus approximately 26,000 in arts, 20,000 in science, and 7,000 in commerce, while the remaining 33,000 seats are in the affiliated colleges of the district.“However, the total seat capacity stands at nearly 39,000, including around 12,000 seats in constituent colleges and about 27,000 in affiliated colleges located in Nalanda district alone,” the DSW said.The university administration stated that the admission portal is expected to open in the last week of this month. “Students seeking admission will be required to submit their applications through the government’s centralised ‘Samarth Portal’ from this year onwards,” Ranjan said.
