Sunderland jumped to the second position in the Premier League table with their dramatic win over Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday in the English top flight encounter between the sides.
Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring for the Blues but WIlson Isidor and Chemsdine Tabli netted for the visitors to give Sunderland a come-from-behind win.
“We know we are Sunderland. We have a great team with great players. We knew we could do the job and we showed it today," said Talbi.
Sunderland was promoted to England’s top flight this season and is now within two points of leader Arsenal, which plays Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Defending champion Liverpool was playing Brentford later on Saturday, and a win would see it overtake Sunderland.
There was also a late winner at St James’ Park, where Bruno Guimaraes scored in the 90th minute to secure Newcastle’s 2-1 victory over Fulham.
Jacob Murphy put Newcastle ahead in the 18th minute, but Sasa Lukic equalised for Fulham in the 56th minute.
“We have to learn how to finish games. In the first half, we could have been at least 3-0 up," said Guimaraes. “We had a lot of chances, but I am happy we scored at the end. In the last few games, we have been punished at the end."
Manchester United was playing Brighton at Old Trafford later on Saturday and could move up to fourth with a win.
