Preparations are on for the smooth conduct of the II PU examination–3 in Mandya district, scheduled to be held from June 9 to 20.
Additional Deputy Commissioner B.C. Shivanandamurthy told at a metting here on Friday that as many as 2,472 students will be apprearing for the examination, which will be held at seven centres in the district.
Five dedicated routes have been identified to facilitate secure and timely transportation of question papers from the District Treasury to the exam centres. Each route will be inspected by a three-member committee comprising a Tahsildar, a Block Education Officer, and a college principal, he said.
Drinking water, toilets, and other basic amenities will be made available to the students, Mr. Shivanandamurthy said.
All centres will be equipped with CCTV camera surveillance and monitored through webcasting. Chief Superintendents have been appointed at each centre to supervise exam proceedings, and authorities have been instructed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during examination hours, he said.
A 200-metre radius in the exam centre will be declared a restricted zone for security. In addition, photocopy shops near the centres will remain closed, and strict security measures will be in place, the official said.
Deputy Director of the Pre-University Education C. Chaluvaiah, along with senior officials, was present.
