President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Hyderabad on Wednesday as part of her winter sojourn. She landed at the Air Force Station, Hakimpet, in the afternoon. From there, she proceeded to Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum, which serves as her winter retreat.
During her stay, the President is scheduled to attend various official programmes on December 19 and 20. Her official date of departure from Hyderabad has not yet been confirmed.
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy were among those who received the President at Hakimpet.
President Murmu will inaugurate the National Conference of Chairpersons of Public Service Commissions on December 19. The conference, being organised by the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), will be attended by heads of public service commissions from across the country.
On December 20, the President will address a conference titled ‘Timeless Wisdom of Bharat: Pathways of Peace and Progress’, being organised by Brahma Kumaris Shanti Sarovar in Hyderabad to mark its 21st anniversary.
