Prince William and Kate Middleton to move houses? Here's where the royal family will live next

It's time for a change of abodes for the royal family it seems. On August 16, Saturday, a royal source revealed that Princess Kate and Princess William would soon be leaving their Adelaide Cottage home alongside their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, to another royal abode in Windsor, reported The Sun.

The family of five will allegedly be relocating to an eight-bedroom Forest Lodge, which is not far from their current residence, per the outlet. “The Wales family will move house later this year,” a spokesperson at Kensington Palace confirmed to PEOPLE.The Forest Lodge is currently undergoing some minor renovations before the family's move which the Prince and Princess are paying for themselves. The family will likely remain in the new home even when William proceeds to take the throne.

Adelaide Cottage has been the house for the family for the past three years. During this time, the royal children started at the co-ed prep school Lambrook, in nearby Ascot.The family also went through one of the toughest times with Kate, 43, undergoing chemotherapy for cancer which ended last summer. Additionally, King Charles was diagnosed with an undisclosed cancer that he is still receiving treatment for.Along with health struggles, the family mourned the loss of William's grandmother Queen Elizabeth in September 2022.

In addition, the Wales family also has a country home Anmer Hall in Norfolk and a London base in Kensington Palace.While they might be moving to the cottage, it was revealed that Anmer Hall remains their "happy place" and in the next 10 to 15 years, they plan to move to Anmer, "which is so special to them."
