Entry to Yuva Dasara, the most popular Dasara event among the youth in Mysuru, will cost ₹2,500 and ₹5,000 per person at the gallery with proper seating arrangements.
The Dasara Festival Committee has announced that tickets can be booked online through BookMyShow.
Last year, the venue for the Yuva Dasara was shifted from the Maharaja College Grounds at the city centre to a vacant plot near Jwalamukhi Sri Tripurasundari Temple in Uttanahalli along the Outer Ring Road. The event will take place at the same venue this year from September 23 to 27, slated to start at 5.30 p.m. and go on till 10.30 p.m. everyday.
The authorities cited crowd management and parking concerns at the city centre, which often led to traffic congestion in the past, as the main reason for the shifting of the venue.
A press release from the Mysuru Yuva Dasara Sub-Committee stated that special bus services will operate from various parts of the city to facilitate access to the venue, located on the outskirts. Additionally, food stalls will be available for the convenience of visitors.
The star-studded line-up of performers has also been announced. Music composer Arjun Janya and his team, along with Lagori Band, will perform on the inaugural day on September 23.
Bollywood’s popular music director and composer Pritam Chakraborty, known for many hits, will perform with his team on September 24, while music band Shor Police is also scheduled to take the stage on that day. Singer Jubin Nautiyal will perform on September 25, and will be followed by a performance by singer Ramachandra. On September 26, music director and singer Devi Sri Prasad will present a concert, followed by a performance by Asees Kaur. Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan will enthrall audiences on the concluding day on September 27. Bengaluru band Best Kept Secret is also slated to perform on the final day.
Authorities stated that the decision to shift the venue last year worked well, as the new venue accommodated a larger crowd and helped the police manage it more effectively. The move also helped decongest the city centre, especially around Maharaja College Grounds, while enabling the accommodation of more people.
Yuva Dasara was first introduced two decades ago and was originally organised at the open-air auditorium on the Manasagangotri campus. Later, it was shifted to the Maharaja College Grounds as it had a bigger space.
