Weeks after the infamous "kiss cam" moment wherein Astronomer's two ex-employees-- Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot-- were caught having an affair, Kristin Cabot's husband Andrew Cabot has finally broken his silence.
Andrew Cabot, who is the CEO of Privateer Rum, has officially spoken out after his marriage to tech executive Kristin Cabot came crashing down in a spectacular fashion.
For the unversed, here's a quick recap of the infamous "kiss cam" controversy, which took social media by storm recently:Kristin, who at the time was the Chief People Officer at Astronomer, was spotted in the crowd with none other than her boss, then-CEO Andy Byron. And not just casually sitting together. Nope—these two got caught by the concert’s “kiss cam” looking way too cozy. The awkward twist? Both of them are (or were) married to other people. When the camera zoomed in, Kristin quickly whipped around and Andy ducked like he was dodging a baseball, while Coldplay’s Chris Martin couldn’t resist teasing: “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just really shy.”
Ouch. The clip instantly went viral on social media, turning two relatively unknown corporate execs into the unwilling stars of a national scandal. Memes flew, social media platforms exploded, and let’s just say, the internet detectives went into overdrive digging up personal details about both families. Now, the fallout is finally catching up. As per reports, Kristin quietly filed for divorce in New Hampshire back in August, and the news just broke wide.
A spokesperson for Andrew, who is 61 and has two kids from a previous marriage, confirmed that he and Kristin had already been separated before the Coldplay fiasco, PEOPLE reported. “Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening,” the statement read, insisting the concert wasn’t the official breaking point.
They’re asking for privacy now, though given how viral this saga went, that ship may have sailed.

As for Kristin and Andy? Neither of them has publicly explained their side of the story, leaving everyone else to fill in the blanks. What we do know is that both eventually left Astronomer in the aftermath. In fact, when interim CEO Pete DeJoy stepped in, he released a very telling statement about the bizarre situation. He admitted the company had never seen this kind of spotlight before but spun it into a moment of resilience.
