Tabla maestro Prodyut Mukherjee delivered a spellbinding performance at a lunch music concert hosted by PM of India Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in honour of European leaders António Costa, President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.Prodyut, a Grammy Jury member and GiMA award winner, performed alongside artistes Ranjan Kumar and Satish Kumar Pathak, presenting a thoughtfully curated repertoire that reflected India’s rich and diverse musical heritage.

The ensemble opened with evocative renditions of raga Sarang and Mishra Khamaj, before moving across genres and cultures. The programme featured pieces such as Winds of Change, Garba music, Baul music of Bengal, Kajri and Dadra, alongside popular classics including Piya Tose Naina Lage Re, Mohe Panghat Pe Nandalal, Jamuna Se Jal Bhar Lo, Barsan Lagain Balamji, Imagine (John Lennon), Volare (Domenico Modugno), and My Way (Frank Sinatra).Blending classical, folk and global influences, the performances showcased the depth and versatility of Indian musical traditions while also building bridges across cultures – an apt gesture in the presence of international dignitaries.

Prodyut’s rhythmic mastery and collaborative synergy with fellow musicians left the distinguished gathering visibly impressed. The concert formed part of the Prime Minister’s efforts to foreground Indian fine arts and culture on the global stage, reinforcing the country’s commitment to cultural diplomacy.
