Punjab rural polls: BSP wins 3 zila parishad, 28 panchayat samiti seats in Doaba

JALANDHAR: Bahujan Samaj Party won 3 zila parishad zones, all in Jalandhar, and 28 panchayat samiti zones - 19 in Jalandhar, seven in Nawanshahr, and one each in Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur.

The results made it clear that the party remains confined to certain pockets of the Doaba region, where the Ad-dharmi/Ravidasia community has a predominant presence. In addition to BSP, Congress won seven ZP zones in Jalandhar and AAP won 10 zones. tnn
