The post-mortem report of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, alias 'Kamal Kaur Bhabhi', revealed that she was strangled to death and "suspicious marks" were found on her thighs and near her private parts. However, the report does not provide any conclusive evidence regarding sexual assault.

Kaur, known for her bold and often controversial content, was found dead inside a car parked near Adesh University in Bathinda on June 11. While two accused were arrested on June 13, the mastermind, Nihang Amritpal Singh Mehron, fled to the UAE hours after the incident.

The post-mortem of the 27-year-old YouTuber was conducted on June 12 at the Civil Hospital by a government-appointed panel of three doctors.

The swab and viscera samples have also been collected and sent to a forensic laboratory for further analysis. This report will confirm if Kaur was sexually assaulted before being killed.

WHAT HAS PROBE REVEALED SO FAR?

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Kaur was allegedly approached by Mehron, a radical Sikh leader, in the first week of June on the pretext of a car promotion event in Bathinda. She left for the event from her Ludhiana residence on June 9, but went missing.

Her body was discovered when locals informed the police about a foul smell emanating from a car parked near Adesh University.

Kaur was hugely popular on social media, with 384,000 followers on Instagram and 2,36,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Hours after Kaur's murder, a video emerged on the internet where Mehron claimed that the YouTuber was killed due to her "immoral and vulgar content". The radical Sikh leader also warned other influencers against uploading "objectionable content".

Based on the questioning of the two accused, police said Mehron had planned the murder three months ago. Police said the accused travelled to Ludhiana and kept a watch on Kaur's movements and her lifestyle.

Police said they were working with the authorities to seek Mehron's deportation from the UAE.
