Railways to run 10 pairs of festival special trains

In response to the increased travel demand during the festive seasons of Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath, East Central Railway (ECR) is launching ten pairs of special festival trains from various hubs. These trains will seamlessly link key cities such as New Delhi, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, and Sitamarhi.

Patna: Railways will run 10 pairs of festival special trains from various locations under the East Central Railway (ECR) zone to cater to the large number of passengers heading home for Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath.According to the ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra, the New Delhi-Darbhanga will run daily from September 29 to December 1, leaving New Delhi at 3.10pm and reaching Darbhanga the next day at 4.30pm. “On its return journey, it will leave Darbhanga daily at 6.15pm and reach New Delhi the next day at 11pm via Samastipur-Muzaffarpur-Chhapra-Gorakhpur route,” he said.Similarly, the New Delhi-Mansi will be into operations from September 29 to December 2, leaving New Delhi at 8pm and reaching Mansi the next day at 11.30pm.

On its return journey, it will leave Mansi at 1.10am and reach New Delhi the next day at 3am.“The Anand Vihar-Bhagalpur will run from September 20 to December 1, leaving Anand Vihar at 1.40pm and reaching Patna the next day at 5.55am and Bhagalpur at 2.30pm. On its return journey, it will leave Bhagalpur at 6pm and reach Anand Vihar the next day at 10pm,” the CPRO said.Likewise, The Delhi-Bhagalpur weekly will run from September 23 to November 26, leaving Delhi every Tuesday at 11am and reaching Bhagalpur the next day 10.30am via DDU-Sasaram-Gaya-Kiul route.

On its return journey, it will leave Bhagalpur every Wednesday at 1.40pm and reach Delhi the next day at 3.30pm.“The Anand Vihar-Sitamarhi will run from September 29 to December 1, leaving Anand Vihar at 3.30pm and reaching Sitamarhi the next day at 3pm On its return journey, it will leave Sitamarhi at 4.30pm and reach Delhi the next day at 6.15pm,” he said, adding that the Delhi-Sitamarhi, Anand Vihar-Jogbani, Anand Vihar-Jaynagar and Anand Vihar-Rajgir will be into operations to clear the festival rush.Meanwhile, railways has provided a two-minute temporary stoppage of 10 pairs of passenger trains at Punpun Ghat and five pairs of passenger trains at Anugrah Narayan Ghat on both UP and Down directions on the occasion of Pitripaksha Mela from September 6 to 21.The trains which will stop at Punpun Ghat are Patna-Bhabhua Road Intercity, Patna-Barkakana Palamu, Singhrauli-Patna, Islampur-Hatia, Purnia Court-Hatia, Patna-Ranchi Janshatabdi, Patna-Dhanbad Ganga Damodar, Rajgir-Varanasi Budhpurnima, Patliputra-Gaya and Charlapalli-Patna. The Gaya-Dehri on Sone, Asansol-Varanasi and Dhanbad-Sasaram Intercity will stop at Anugrah Narayan Ghat.
