Superstar Rajinikanth has extended warm wishes to his fans on the auspicious occasion of Pongal. On Thursday, January 15, the legendary actor stepped out of his Chennai residence to meet and greet his fans who had gathered to celebrate the harvest festival with him.

Rajinikanth extends wishes on Pongal

The ‘Jailer’ actor was seen dressed in a traditional white shirt and kasavu dhoti, as he stepped out to greet his fans. He waved at them, folded his hands to greet them on the occasion, all with a beaming smile. Rajinikanth also extended warm wishes on the auspicious occasion. “My sweet Pongal wishes to everyone. The farmers are the backbone of this country. Only if they are happy will everyone else be happy,” Rajinikanth said, as he extended wishes on Pongal.The superstar also took his sweet time to meet and greet the fans. The fans who gathered at his residence were delighted by the actor’s presence, which added to the festivity. Check out the pictures here.

The Pongal festivities have officially begun on January 14, and will last till 17. Each of these four days hold a significance. The festivities commence with Bhogi, followed by Thai Pongal, Mattu Pongal, and conclude with Kaanum Pongal.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajinikanth’s next film is tentatively titled Thalaivar 173. The film will go on floors in April.

Kamal Haasan greets fans on Pongal

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan too extended Pongal wishes to his fans. He took to his X handle to extend fans. The post translates to, “Pongal, celebrated as the pinnacle of Tamil culture. On this auspicious day that praises nature and agriculture, may joy overflow in every home; may hearts be filled with sweetness.
