Rakul Preet Singh looks back at marking almost one year of marriage with Jackky Bhagnani

Rakul Preet Singh, who's marking one year of marriage in February with Jackky Bhagnani, describes the journey as “lovely,” adding that the best part has been how little life has changed. “Everybody asks how life has changed after marriage, but it has not changed.

That’s the best part.

It’s only gotten better because you get to officially live with your best friend. I don’t need to take permission from my parents to go on a holiday with him,” she says. Emphasising their compatibility, Rakul adds, “Both of us are very similar people with similar likes and dislikes and also one another’s biggest cheerleaders. I can go on and on, and I’m happy that none of that chaos people talk about has happened.”Wellness, Rakul says, remains central to both their lives and travels. “Whether we do another holiday or not, a wellness holiday happens for sure. Anybody who knows me knows that wellness is a very integral part of my life, and when I met Jackky, so was it for him. We have always believed that wellness is not a fad, it’s a way of life,” she says at the launch of their wellness centre, Nuvana Wellness in Mumbai. The actor has always believed in expanding her horizons by taking up various businesses while continuing to do her film ventures.

She says, “It’s not about actors doing other things. As individuals, the world is moving towards not just one job. If you have the ability to understand something beyond your work, why not? Unless I’m passionate about something and I can add value to it, I don’t think I can make an investment where I put in money and partnership but have nothing to offer, because it’s not my area of interest.

”Speaking about who she would most enjoy sharing a wellness journey with from among her friends from the fraternity, Rakul names her Mere Husband Ki Biwi co-star Bhumi Pednekar. “My friend Bhumi. And the reason is because I gel very well with Bhumi and I know that she really enjoys wellness a lot. She’s also had a weight loss journey and she’s someone who enjoys these trips,” she says, adding, “If I can do a wellness trip with somebody, it’s Bhumi.
