'Met in PPE kits to borrow vodka' - details inside

Rakul Preet Singh met Jackky Bhagnani during the COVID-19 lockdown while borrowing vodka in PPE kits. Their cautious first meeting led to friendship over homemade food and shared fitness passions. After three years, they married in a beautiful Goa destination wedding featuring Sikh and Sindhi ceremonies in February 2024.

Rakul Preet Singh recently revealed a fun and surprising story about how she met her husband, actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani. Their first encounter was anything but ordinary, involving an unexpected combination of a bottle of vodka and PPE kits, which set the stage for their relationship.Meeting During the LockdownIn a recent cooking vlog with Farah Khan, Rakul shared the unusual story of how she first crossed paths with Jackky during the COVID-19 lockdown. On her brother’s birthday, while searching for a bottle of vodka, Rakul and her siblings ended up at Jackky’s place, where everyone was clad in full PPE gear, making the encounter all the more memorable.Cautious First VisitThe actress recalled with a laugh how cautious they were during their first visit to Jackky’s home: “We came to his house wearing PPE kits, sanitised each other's hands just to say hello, and even sanitised the bottle.” Playfully responding, Jackky added with fake offense, “They came, took the bottle, and didn’t even invite me!”Building Friendship Over FoodAbout two weeks later, Rakul and her brother made another trip to Jackky’s place, still on the lookout for a bottle.

This time, they came bearing homemade food, a kind gesture that helped lay the foundation for their friendship. Their bond grew stronger through frequent conversations, eventually deepening into something more meaningful.Shared Passion for FitnessRakul shared that their bond grew stronger because of their mutual dedication to health, fitness, and lifestyle choices. She explained, “We connected because we work out. When you’re single, you tend to be very focused and alpha — you want someone like-minded. I thought, ‘Arey waah, he works out too, his lifestyle and values are similar.’ Most importantly, we connected over our workout routines. People usually want to go out and party, but don’t want to eat pizza and I found someone just as psycho about fitness as me!”A Beautiful Destination WeddingAfter three years of dating, Rakul and Jackky exchanged vows on 21 February 2024 in a stunning destination wedding in Goa. Their special day featured two meaningful ceremonies: a traditional Anand Karaj Sikh ritual in the afternoon, followed by a vibrant Sindhi wedding celebration in the evening.
