Rally in Aizawl over forest Act

Aizawl: A rally was organised in front of Vanapa Hall in Aizawl by the Joint Civil Society of Mizoram (JCM) on Thursday, protesting the Forest Conservation Amendment Act, 2023, which the Mizoram state legislative assembly adopted verbatim on Aug 27, reports HC Vanlalruata. Speakers such social and environment activists Ruatfela Nu, ZR Thahmingliana of ‘Mizoram First’, Joseph Hmingropuia of Centre for Environment & Social Justice and Vanlalsiama Chhangte of Mizoram Transformation Movement as well as representatives of opposition parties addressed the rally.
