Ramjas College, University of Delhi celebrated its 109th Foundation Day on January 17, marking more than a century of sustained contribution to higher education in India. Established in 1917, the college holds the distinction of being one of the founding colleges of the University of Delhi.
It has consistently played a pivotal role in shaping the academic and intellectual life of the university.The celebrations witnessed enthusiastic participation from the College community, including NCC and NSS cadets, as well as teaching and non-teaching staff. It provided an opportunity to reflect on the College's rich legacy of academic excellence, liberal education, and commitment to public service. Over the decades, Ramjas has emerged as a leading institution of higher learning, producing distinguished alumni in academia, administration, science, literature, law, and public life.Ramjas College is currently led by Prof. Ajay Arora, Principal, whose academic leadership emphasizes strengthening teaching–learning processes, promoting interdisciplinary research, and fostering an inclusive and student-centric academic environment. He is ably supported by Prof. Ruchika, Vice Principal, who has played a significant role in enhancing academic coordination and institutional governance.
The 109th Foundation Day reaffirms the College's enduring commitment to intellectual rigor, ethical values, and social responsibility. As one of the earliest pillars of the University of Delhi, Ramjas College continues to uphold its founding vision while engaging with contemporary challenges in higher education.
