As reported by Mid Day, the film is expected to begin production early next year, the project is reportedly in its final stages of development. The film’s concept is said to revolve around dual identities, though it will be a fresh take on the theme rather than a remake of the classic 'Ram Aur Shyam' starring the legendary Dilip Kumar.
Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Kartik Aaryan being considered
The casting for 'Ram Aur Shyam' has already generated strong buzz in the industry. According to reports, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Kartik Aaryan are being considered for the lead, which involves a double role. Sources indicate that Anees Bazmee has been developing this concept for some time, aiming to present it as a contemporary entertainer that blends humor, drama, and family emotions.

The film was initially set to feature Varun, Arjun Kapoor, and Diljit in the lead roles. With two major stars stepping away, producer Boney Kapoor and the team are now exploring new casting options.
