The Kapoor family’s Christmas celebrations this year turned into an unexpectedly heartwarming moment online, thanks to Riddhima Kapoor Sahni’s daughter Samara Sahni, whose candid reactions and shy smiles won the internet.
A close-knit Kapoor Christmas
The intimate Christmas gathering was hosted at Soni Razdan’s Mumbai residence, with Ranbir Kapoor arriving alongside his mother Neetu Kapoor, sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and niece Samara Sahni. The evening stayed low-key and family-focused, with no grand spectacle—until Samara quietly stole the spotlight.Ranbir kept things understated in an all-black outfit, pairing a leather jacket with white sneakers. He briefly acknowledged the paparazzi with a nod before heading inside.
Neetu Kapoor followed soon after, smiling warmly for the cameras in a festive yet comfortable look. Riddhima arrived with Samara, completing the family frame.
Samara’s shy moment with the paparazzi
As Samara stepped out of the car, she appeared visibly baffled by the flashing cameras. For a brief moment, she considered getting back inside, before deciding to join her mother and grandmother for photographs. After the group pictures, photographers requested Samara to pose solo.
It was then that her teenage innocence truly stood out. Samara couldn’t stop blushing as she posed, smiling shyly while Riddhima and Neetu graciously stepped aside to give her space. She was seen smiling ear to ear, clearly overwhelmed yet delighted. Before leaving, Samara even wished the paparazzi a “Merry Christmas,” sealing the moment that soon went viral across social media.

‘Let a girl have a resting face’
Interestingly, Samara’s comfort—or lack of it—around cameras had recently come up in conversation during filmmaker Farah Khan’s vlog, where she visited Riddhima’s home in Delhi.
Samara appeared briefly in the vlog, prompting Farah to bring up a viral clip from Aadar Jain’s wedding earlier this year.Explaining her daughter’s expressions, Riddhima said, “Samara ka kya hai na, ki, ‘Main agar camera mein dekhungi, toh I am just going to give like a blue steel look.’ So, I told her that it looks like you are angry.”

Reacting to how people misread her expressions, Samara clarified with quiet confidence, “Let a girl have a resting face. It’s not a problem. It’s just a resting face.”She added, “Yeah, smiling is good. I mean... normalise having a resting face,” prompting Riddhima to gently remind her that she has a “pretty smile.” Riddhima, who married Bharat Sahni in 2006, welcomed Samara in 2011.
