Ranchi Municipal Corporation orders eviction of encroachments in Hindpiri, Hatia localities

Ranchi Municipal Corporation is clearing encroachments from its land in Hindpiri and Hatia. Administrator Sushant Gaurav led inspections, directing immediate eviction and land measurement. Cleared land will be used for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana housing, prioritizing planned development and the welfare of economically weaker sections. Community hall repairs were also ordered.

Ranchi: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has ordered the removal of encroachments from its land in Hindpiri and Hatia localities after an administrative inspection on Tuesday.

The drive was led by RMC administrator Sushant Gaurav, who visited multiple locations along with a municipal team to assess the status of civic land and assets across the city.

During the inspection in ward no. 52 (Hatia), officials identified illegal occupation on municipal property. The administrator directed the officers concerned to initiate immediate eviction proceedings and conduct proper land measurement to ensure action against the encroachers under the law.

Officials said the objective was to secure civic land for planned urban development.In ward no. 22 (Hindpiri), the team inspected a community hall built by the civic body and flagged the need for repair and improvement. Instructions were also issued to expedite the maintenance work. Officials also undertook measurement of the nearby municipal land to explore its use for public welfare projects.“RMC is compiling ward-wise data of its land and properties.

Encroachments will be dealt with strictly, but rehabilitation of affected families will also be ensured through govt schemes,” Gaurav said.Officials said land cleared from encroachments in Hindpiri and Hatia would be used to construct houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), aimed at rehabilitating eligible evicted families. “Our focus is on planned development while safeguarding the interests of economically weaker sections,” Gaurav added.
