Ranchi to Launch 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan' Health Campaign for Women and Families

The state health department on Thursday announced ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start this national campaign from Indore, Madhya Pradesh.On Thursday, union health ministry held a review meeting with all states. States’s additional chief secretary Ajoy Kumar Singh said, “Health camps will be organised near every district hospital and major puja pandals. The aim is to ensure access to health services to as many women and families as possible.”State’s National Health Mission (NHM) director Shashi Prakash Jha said that special camps will be set up near every puja pandal, so that the general public, especially women, can easily avail health services.“Checkups will be done for women including screening for breast cancer, cervical cancer, diabetes, TB, and anemia among others. Special focus will be on maternal and child care. A target of collecting one lakh units of blood has been set under the National Mega Blood Donation Campaign too,” read a statemente from the health department.
