The NFL Hall of Famer Randy Moss is getting set to return on television. On Good Morning America, he discussed his battle with bile duct cancer (often known as cholangiocarcinoma) on September 3, 2025, with Robin Roberts.
To concentrate on his health, he had distanced himself from his job at ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown late in 2024. He will now return full time beginning September 7, 2025, when the NFL season begins. His wife, Lydia also honestly discussed their difficult circumstances and how she stuck by his side. In the sports world, Moss's comeback is major news.
Randy Moss opens up about cancer fight and ESPN comeback
In late 2024, Randy Moss, aged 48, became ill. Signs of jaundice and bile duct difficulties were his urine darkening and his eyes turning yellow.

After that, he also went through radiation and chemotherapy. During his recovery, he made a brave return to TV during the Super Bowl in February 2025, where he cried as friends like Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, Justin Jefferson, and others played an inspiring video message for him.

Lydia Moss explains her role in supporting Randy Moss through recovery
Lydia Moss, Randy Moss’s wife, spoke on Good Morning America with Robin Roberts on September 3, 2025. She said it was hard when Randy didn’t want help. “He’s used to doing everything on his own,” she said. But she stayed close to him. She said, “I was kicking down them doors. I was opening up those blinds.
