Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) committed to “build safe and inclusive environments”, in response to the deadly stampede that occurred in June this year.
As part of the ‘RCB CARES’ initiative, the franchise stated that it intends to “work closely with stadium authorities, sporting bodies, and league partners to design better crowd management protocols”.
In a statement on ‘X’, the 2025 IPL champion committed to “invest in independent research on crowd safety”. This involves creating a fan-safety audit framework, and training on-ground partners on crowd management and emergency response.
To provide support beyond financial compensation, and to empower the Siddi community with social development programs were some of the other initiatives that the franchise intends to implement.
On Saturday (August 30, 2025), RCB announced a compensation of ₹25 lakh each to the eleven people who died in the stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4.
