A thought-provoking painting on peace, titled “No More War”, by Kalaburagi-based artist Rehman Patel will be displayed at the five-day National Art Exhibition organised by Lavanya International Art Foundation at the Indian Institute of World Culture (IIWC) in Bengaluru from August 22 to 26.
In his artwork, Mr. Patel powerfully depicts the universal symbol of peace—a dove carrying an olive branch. The dove, long celebrated across cultures and faiths, stands as a representation of love, purity, devotion, and harmony.
“Art has the power to resolve conflicts and foster peace. Art is a universal language that nurtures brotherhood and harmony. In times of chaos and unrest, it is essential to recognize the role of art in spreading love and peace,” artist expressed.
The painting portrays a stark contrast: a background splashed with red and blue-green hues, symbolizing bloodshed and smoke, while a dove soars with an olive branch, sending a message to end war. Through every color and brushstroke, the artwork emphasizes that war is destructive—not only to humanity but to the Earth itself.
The painting stands as a visual reminder of the urgent need to embrace peace for the survival of future generations.
