Repair Dabolim service road before starting flyover work

Vasco: Public works minister Digambar Kamat on Monday directed the contractor to complete repairs of the service road from Vales junction to Dabolim junction before Sep 30, and before the commencement of the flyover work.During his first visit to the port town after taking charge of the PWD portfolio, Kamat warned the contractor that he would be blacklisted if he did not complete the work in time.The stretch has become a death trap for motorists and has not been repaired despite complaints. Kamat was accompanied by transport minister Mauvin Godinho and several PWD officials. Godinho also discussed various road issues in Dabolim constituency. Both ministers also had a look at the plan of the flyover project which is expected to ease traffic flow.Godinho said that soon AI cameras will be installed at major junctions in the state.Kamat paid a surprise visit to the PWD office at Baina. He was accompanied by Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar.
