Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that resolving the issues concerning employees is the government’s responsibility.
Participating in the meeting with the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of employee unions, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka stated that solving employees’ issues is the government’s responsibility. He mentioned that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has responded positively and appointed both a Ministers’ Sub-Committee and an Officials’ Committee to address the issues.
On Wednesday, at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, Mr. Bhatti attended the meeting along with Sub-Committee Ministers Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, Government Advisor Keshav Rao and other officials. The Deputy CM shared that CM Revanth Reddy directed the Ministers’ Committee to consult with employee unions and resolve issues positively and promptly.
The three-member committee, constituted to address employee issues, held several meetings with the unions and received representations. The information received was shared with the committee over multiple sessions. Mr. Bhatti explained that pending dues have accumulated over the years, making it difficult to clear everything at once, but the government is determined not to delay further and aims to resolve employee grievances soon.
In view of Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, he stated that the government has decided to not only review the official report but also engage directly with employee unions. The government considers employees as stakeholders in the democratic administration. The Deputy CM noted that while prioritizing public service, welfare programmes, and balancing government revenues and expenditures, the employee system remains a top priority for the State.
He emphasized the need for cooperation, aiming to move forward through dialogue so that neither the public nor employees face difficulties. The Deputy CM said that due to financial issues resulting from the past decade’s governance, the current government began paying salaries on the first of every month immediately upon assuming power.
While continuing the welfare schemes introduced by the previous government, they have launched many new ones which are being implemented successfully. The government is also committed to addressing employees’ demands as part of this effort.
Despite financial constraints, the CM is firm on resolving employee issues after carefully weighing public revenue, expenditures and required responsibilities. Mr. Bhatti reassured the unions that the government is united in addressing concerns such as family weddings and hospital expenses faced by employees, which have been discussed multiple times internally among Cabinet colleagues.
In view of the Cabinet meeting on Thursday, a report will be prepared after discussions with the three-member committee, the Finance department, and other officials, and it will be submitted to the Cabinet for resolution, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka informed the union leaders.
Officials, including Naveen Mittal, Lokesh Kumar, Krishna Bhaskar, Sandeep Kumar Sultania and Mahesh Datt Ekka, were present in the meeting.
