Resort staff arrested for voyeurism

The Ramanagara Rural police have arrested a staff of a resort for peeing into a women’s washroom when one of the guests was using it on Wednesday.

Based on a complaint filed by a 27-year-old private firm employee, the police charged the accused, identified as Sandeep under Section 77 (voyeurism) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023.

The victim, with 20 of her friends, had gone to the resort for a day trip. She went to the washroom and found that there was no tissue. She asked for the same from the staff and went to the loo. A few seconds later, she realised that someone was peeping into the washroom she was using from the adjacent loo and raised an alarm.

Her friends rushed to her rescue and caught the accused, who was trying to escape. The accused reportedly refused to admit. The guests and staff of the resort had an altercation over the same. The victim alerted the police and the accused was alter arrested.
