Amit Shah addresses the 5th Akhil Bharatiya Rajbhasha Sammelan, Gandhinagar
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday addressed 5th Akhil Bhartiya Rajbhasha Sammelan on Hindi Diwas 2025. He appealed that all Indian languages must be respected and India should move towards becoming a self-reliant, self-confident and developed country.
Extending Hindi Diwas greetings during an address at Gujarat’s Gandhinagar, the home minister said, “On this occasion of Hindi Diwas, let us respect all Indian languages, including Hindi, and move forward towards a self-reliant, self-confident and developed India."
“Walk together, think together, and speak together" has been the core mantra of India’s linguistic-cultural consciousness," Shah added.
Union Home Minister is on a one-day visit to Gujarat today, September 14. He will inaugurate the international sports complex built at a cost of Rs 824 crores in the Naranpura area of Ahmedabad today.
Amit Shah’s Appeal On Hindi Diwas
Addressing a summit on Hindi Diwas 2025, Shah said every community gets an opportunity of expression in India and that is our country’s biggest strength.
“Our country is fundamentally a language-oriented nation. Our languages have been a powerful medium for carrying forward culture, history, traditions, knowledge, science, philosophy, and spirituality from generation to generation," he said in a message on the occasion of Hindi Diwas.
Shah also appealed that people should help Rajbhasha grow. In his address, Shah said, “Mahatma Gandhi was from Gujarat, but he used to say that Hindi connects the entire country. I come from Gujarat, studied in Gujarati medium, but it is because of Hindi that I can communicate across the country. I appeal to all to put emphasis on the mother tongue, but also help Rajbhasha grow. If Sanskrit has given us knowledge, Hindi has taken that knowledge across the country…"

Home Minister also mentioned Article 351 of the Constitution and said it assigns the responsibility of promoting and spreading Hindi to make it an effective medium of India’s composite culture.
“We must adopt Indian languages as the medium of communication and interaction," he said.
