Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy left for New Delhi on Thursday evening with a busy schedule, meeting business leaders and diplomats on Friday to attract investments and sell the concept of Telangana Rising.
Mr. Reddy will have a busy day in the national capital with a series of high-level meetings and events lined up. In the morning he is scheduled to meet New Jersey Governor Philip D. Murphy at a private hotel and discuss the scope for investments in Telangana.
He is likely to explain how the Telugu diaspora was contributing to the growth of the United States, and the Telangana government wants to further build bridges between the USA and Telangana. He wants to explain how Telangana was offering business opportunities to the US companies. Later, he will deliver a speech at the annual forum meeting of a media house.
A series of one-on-one meetings with senior representatives of Amazon, Carlsberg, Carlyle, Godrej, and Uber are also planned focussing on investment opportunities in Telangana. Senior officials accompanying the CM said the government is hopeful of getting a nod for expansion of companies that already have their offices in Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister is also scheduled to meet World Economic Forum (WEF) CEO Borge Brende. Mr. Reddy was at the WEF meeting in Davos in January to seek investments in Telangana with the world business leaders. Mr. Brende is known to bat for India’s economic growth, predicting that India has the potential to grow and increase its growth rate with the help of reforms. He argued that India was growing at 6% but it had the potential to do 7% to 8%.
The Chief Minister will also explore a meeting with Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministers Manoharlal Khattar to seek Central support for the urban development projects in the pipeline. Mr. Redddy is expected to return to Hyderabad in the evening.
