Patna: Angry RJD’s women cell functionaries held a protest in Nawada on Sunday after rebel party leader and former minister Raj Ballabh Yadav allegedly made derogatory remarks against former CM Lalu Prasad’s family. The women workers, carrying brooms and placards in their hands, staged a demonstration in Nawada town and raised slogans against the former minister, who was acquitted in a rape case recently. Describing Raj Ballabh’s comments in Nawada as an “insult to the women community”, district unit chief Renu Singh said they wouldn’t tolerate such remarks.“The former minister was imprisoned on charges of rape. All from Bihar are aware of his misdeeds.
After being released from the jail, he is making inappropriate and baseless statements,” she said.Addressing a meeting in Nawada, Raj Ballabh, whose wife Vibha Devi is an MLA from the RJD ticket, allegedly passed disparaging remarks against Lalu’s family. “They talk about Yadav caste, but when it comes to tying the nuptial knot, they prefer the girl from another community,” Raj Ballabh allegedly said. The fresh controversy was created barely days after the BJP called Bihar bandh over derogatory remarks against the PM’s late mother. During the PM’s recent rally in Gaya, Raj Ballabh’s MLA wife, along with another rebel RJD legislator, was seen seated on the dais, triggering speculation of their getting close to the BJP.
