In a spirited gathering, marksmen from various corners of India have assembled in Danapur for the prestigious All India Railway Protection Force shooting competition. A robust lineup of twelve teams featuring 123 shooters from the RPF and RPSF are set to demonstrate their prowess in both rifle and pistol categories, competing through to December 19th.
Patna: All India Railway Protection Force (RPF) shooting competition commenced on Tuesday at Danapur, bringing together shooters from across the country. As many as 12 teams from different railway zones, representing the RPF and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF), are participating in the event, said ECR principal chief security commissioner-cum-IG, RPF, Amaresh Kumar.Kumar said a total of 123 participants will showcase their shooting skills at the BRC shooting range located in the Danapur cantonment. The competition, being held from Dec 16 to Dec 19, includes events in both rifle and pistol categories. A team of shooting experts will supervise and judge the competition.He said the event has been organised with the objective of boosting the confidence of RPF and RPSF personnel and providing them with a platform to display and sharpen their shooting skills.
“Such events will play a crucial role in enhancing professional efficiency and preparedness among the railway armed force,” Kumar said.He added that the prize distribution ceremony will be held on Dec 20 at Jagjivan Stadium in Khagaul on the outskirts of Patna.The RPF and RPSF are vital wings of Indian Railways, entrusted with maintaining law and order across the railway network and safeguarding railway property nationwide. Kumar said competitions like these encourage excellence and reinforce the force’s commitment to safety and security at railway yards, station premises and on running trains.
