The Kerala High Court on Friday reserved its verdict in a bail plea submitted by Murari Babu, former administrative officer of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), in the case pertaining to the alleged misappropriation of gold from the Sabarimala temple.

Mr. Babu is the second accused in the case.

While hearing the case, a Bench of Justice A. Badharudeen orally sought minutes of the board’s meeting where it was decided that the gold plated/cladded coverings in question were to be handed over to businessman and prime accused Unnikrishnan Potti.

This was needed to see who all were responsible for the decision, the court said and directed that the probe into the case be done in a careful manner and the role of TDB officials ascertained.

It also asked whether the continued custody of Mr. Babu was needed. The prosecution cited the need for his custody to open a device using face-id.
