Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal has officially announced her separation from husband and fellow shuttler Parupalli Kashyap. The news was revealed through Saina Nehwal’s Instagram story, where she wrote: “Sometimes life takes us on different paths. After a lot of thought and conversation, Parupalli Kashyap and I have decided to separate."

The couple had tied the knot on December 15, 2018, and were well-known for training together at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad. Their partnership, both on and off the court, had been celebrated by fans and the sporting community alike.
