Samaira distributes sanitary pads in Punjab’s flood-affected areas

Samaira Sandhu has also joined the league of actors helping families affected by floods in Punjab by reaching out with essential supplies in villages of Ferozepur. Calling her experience of witnessing the state as “heartbreaking and inspirational,” Samaira said that amid the calamity the unbroken spirit of Punjab touched her deeply.

“Though the pain caused by calamity is immense, the courage and positivity with which they fight on their own is very inspiring,” she said. Samaira distributed sanitary pads to women, to “ensure dignity and care in the midst of crisis.” Besides her, she also said that her parents are committed to helping the community in the long run. “My family has adopted a few farmers from the affected region and promise to support them by providing fertilizers and seeds until their fields turn green again and they recover their losses,” she said, adding, “When we hold hands and rise, and lift each other on the way, then we all rise much higher.
