Producer Sandra Thomas has come forward to clarify recent controversies linking actor Mammootty to the Producers Association nomination paper issue. She firmly stated that Mammootty did not intervene in the nomination-related matter but had called her regarding a separate complaint in which she alleged her womanhood was insulted.
Mammootty’s call was on a different matter
According to Sandra, as reported by Reporter Live , Mammootty’s phone call came after someone, on behalf of producer Anto Joseph, conveyed her complaint to him. “He understood that there had been behaviour insulting my womanhood. Then he told me, ‘Do everything as you wish,’ and ended the call. I have no complaint about his intervention,” Sandra explained. She added that it was entirely Mammootty’s choice to step away from her film project, and she respected that decision.

Responding to Listin Stephen’s comments
Sandra also addressed comments made by producer Listin Stephen, who questioned her earlier protest where she wore a veil, asking if she could not find a veil the second time she appeared. “Listin is trying to drag Mammootty into this. I wore a veil in protest. Does that mean I should always wear one? What he is saying comes from ignorance and doesn’t deserve a response,” Sandra retorted. She further challenged Listin, saying, “If he can prove that anything I said against him is false, I am ready to leave the film industry.
But if what I say is proven true, will he leave the industry?”
Speaking truth is not insult
Sandra clarified that her recent statements about Mammootty were not meant to demean him. “No one dragged Mammootty into this — he stepped in on his own. When he did good, I acknowledged it. Now, speaking the truth is not an insult,” she stressed. On the work front, Mammootty was last seen in 'Bazooka'.
