Trichy: Thanjavur-based SASTRA University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU) in Japan.The scope of the MoU provides for student and faculty exchange besides promotion of Indo-Japan relationship through various initiatives.“The MoU is expected to strengthen Indo-Japan relationship and has come at the time prime minister Sanae Takaichi visiting India next week for bilateral talks,” said SASTRA University’s vice-chancellor S Vaidhyasubramaniam. President of OMU professor Hiroyuki Sakuragi expressed his commitment to work jointly with India and SASTRA University.SASTRA has ties with five other Japanese Universities - University of Tokyo, Hiroshima University, Tokyo City University, Shimane University and Tsukuba University.
