A brainstorming session involving the retired senior officers of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) was held in the coal town of Kothagudem on Wednesday for the company’s future roadmap.
The initiative is part of SCCL’s efforts to shape a sustainable future for the State-run coal company. It is aimed at eliciting valuable suggestions from the retired officers of the company for shaping the company’s future.
SCCL Directors and General Managers concerned among others attended the interactive session. The retired officers gave suggestions for increasing coal production, reducing production costs and diversifying beyond coal for long-term stability and survival, a SCCL press release said.
In pursuit of its goal of achieving the future annual production target of 100 million tonnes, the SCCL management has already received suggestions from the trade unions, employees and officers on the company’s strategic growth and long-term plans.
Addressing the gathering through video conference at the inaugural session, SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N. Balram said it was imperative to enhance coal production and diversify into other sectors in order to withstand the growing competition in the coal sector and achieve the ambitious future annual coal output targets.
He requested the retired officers of the company to share their ideas for the SCCL’s growth and sustainability.
