A search warrant has been issued against celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib and his son Anos Habib in connection with an alleged multi-crore cryptocurrency scam in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district, where over 100 investors were reportedly defrauded with promises of massive returns.

According to police, the father-son duo, under the banner of Follicle Global Company (FLC), lured people into investing in Bitcoin and Binance coins, claiming profits of 50–75%. The Sambhal police team, led by Sub-Inspector Pavitra Parmar, searched Habib’s Delhi residence in New Friends Colony after securing a court-issued warrant. However, Habib was not found there. His brother Amjad Habib informed officers that the stylist no longer lived at the address. Police searched the premises for about 30 minutes before leaving.

Superintendent of Police KK Bishnoi confirmed that investigators will now search Habib’s Mumbai property.

Officials revealed that 33 FIRs have been filed against Habib, his son, and the company’s local head Saifullah. In 2023, the accused allegedly organised a promotional event at Royal Palace Venkat Hall in Sambhal, urging attendees to invest between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh each. The total amount collected is estimated between Rs 5 crore and Rs 7 crore. When investors received no returns, they approached the police, only to discover the company had been shut down.

Habib was earlier summoned for questioning on October 12, but his lawyer Pawan Kumar appeared instead, citing his poor health—a claim the SP termed “not acceptable."

Police have not ruled out invoking the Gangster Act and plan to seize assets linked to the alleged fraud.
