Security was tightened outside the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi ahead of a planned protest by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal activists over the killing of a Hindu youth in Bangladesh.
Personnel from security forces are seen standing guard at regular intervals, with police and paramilitary staff deployed to maintain order.
The protest comes in the aftermath of a brutal incident in the Mymensingh district, where a 25-year-old Hindu garment worker, Dipu Chandra Das, was beaten to death by a mob on allegations of blasphemy and his body was later tied to a tree and set on fire on the night of December 18.

Police and Bangladesh’s Rapid Action Battalion have arrested several suspects in connection with the killing, and the interim government led by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has strongly condemned the violence, calling it a “heinous crime" and promising that those responsible will face justice.
The killing has heightened concerns about the safety of religious minorities in Bangladesh, especially Hindus, who make up a significant portion of the population but have faced a series of attacks and intimidation in recent months.
