'SEVENTEEN' stars DK and SEUNGKWAN unveil DxS unit with 'Serenade' mini-album; to explore emotional themes in upcoming release

K-pop group SEVENTEEN is all set to introduce fans to a new unit featuring its members DK and SEUNGKWAN. The new unit, officially titled DxS (SEVENTEEN), will drop their first mini-album 'Serenade' scheduled for a release on January 12.

DK and SEUNGKWAN team up

Ahead of the album launch, DxS unveiled a trailer titled ‘An Ordinary Love’ on HYBE’s official YouTube channel, offering fans a glimpse into all that is in store for the upcoming record. The trailer presents an emotional plot centring on love, distance and memory.

DK and SEUNGKWAN give a glimpse of 'Serenade'

The video opens with DK lingering over a phone that rings unanswered; subsequent scenes portray him and a loved one sharing the same physical space while remaining emotionally distant, while visuals of wilted plants and dried fruit seem to suggest a dwindling relationship. SEUNGKWAN appears in the trailer as a clerk at a comic book café. His character is shown reminiscing about a past love after noticing a customer’s book, briefly smiling at the memories. The moment is interrupted when he drops a comic book, with the title “Blue” which has fans guessing about the significance of the title.

About the mini-album 'Serenade'

The mini-album Serenade, described as “a love song sung at night,” aims to capture the moments between lovers meeting and parting.

As per reports, the album explores the subtleties of ordinary love and everyday experiences through DK and SEUNGKWAN’s storytelling.Known as two of SEVENTEEN’s strongest vocalists, the two stars have consistently showcased their range and expressiveness through group releases, solo projects, soundtracks and cover performances. With DxS (SEVENTEEN), the duo is expected to further define their artistic identity, vocal range, refined technique and emotional depth.
