Multiple shots were reported at Sydney’s famed Bondi Beach on Sunday, though it remains unclear if anyone was injured. Australian police said they were responding to the developing incident and urged the public to avoid the area.“Police are responding to a developing incident at Bondi Beach and are advising the public to avoid the area. Anyone already at the scene should take shelter,” New South Wales Police said in a social media statement
"We are aware of an active security situation in Bondi. We urge people in the vicinity to follow information from NSW Police," spokesperson for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, as cited by Reuters.NSW Ambulance confirmed that over 25 resources, including medical teams, ambulances, helicopters, and special operations units, have been deployed to Bondi Beach.
Multiple patients are receiving treatment on-site, with four transported to St Vincent’s Hospital, one to Royal Prince Alfred, and one to St George Hospital, as cited by ABC News.Police have confirmed that two individuals have been taken into custody.
